On June 22-23, 2019 Lithuanians living in Bulgaria and their family members gathered to celebrate the most ancient and most beautiful summer holiday – Jonines (St. John’s day). The Slavyani village, where live more than 15 Lithuanian families , has already become a traditional place to celebrate Jonines. Over 40 participants attended the event. This year Jonines was celebrated at a new village restaurant, whose owners surprised the guests with the traditional Lithuanian cold soup Šaltibarsčiai. During the event sounded Lithuanian songs and laughter of happy children, solemnly burned fire.
