On June 25 Lithuanians living in Bulgaria had the opportunity to get together and celebrate the most beautiful summer holiday – Jonines (St. John’s Day). This year the celebration was held in park “Kambanite” , Sofia. The event was attended by 16 adults and 8 children. The Counselor of the Embassy of Lithuania, temporarily performing the functions of Chargé d’affaires, Donatas Augulis was invited to participate the St. John’s Day party as well. He arrived to the party together with his family.
Everyone remembered the St. John’s traditions – picking wild flowers and weaving wreaths. During the event, children searched for a flowering fern and each family lit and released colorful lanterns with written wishes and dreams into the sky.
